few things about me and why I started this site.
I began writing at 18 and decided my life was going to lead people to something bigger than themselves. There is something so special about creating art that speaks volumes and something about letting another person know they are seen, loved and heard. At 13, I was diagnosed with scoliosis and anxiety. Both those things led my first name like I would never love again. I spent most of my adolescence hating my body and the girl I was. I thought nobody would love me enough to fill the void in my heart and I craved a deeper connection. I ran to men to solve my need to affection in every way I could. I glorified love to the point where I lost myself. I ran so far away from God and people that I grew numb to life. When I was given a guitar, I used my voice to create all those feelings and put them on paper. I grew a deep love for writing and music. Following writing music, I started to write letters across the United States to random strangers, that soon made me realize how much I wanted to use a platform to write novels, journal entries and love letters to people all around the world so people would know the love of Jesus. So I did. I started my first blog at 18 and from there, here we are. I think there is something so special to be said about writing your heart out for people to listen and read whether they agree or disagree - for people to lean on, resonate to you and become friends via words on a screen. So I decided to do just that. And as a hobby, it has turned into my most loved art - writing words.
aside from writing, I have the most wanderlust heart - I am always on a plane or car traveling some place whether near or far. You can find me obsessing over shows and drinking a glass of red wine or many iced lattes. I overanalyze song lyrics and interpret the hell out of everything because I believe there is meaning beyond skin deep in every single thing. I love art and I think there is something to be said about your art - no matter what that looks like. If you are human, you are an artist it is just a matter of what you do with that. I sing lots of Taylor Swift in my car and I like taking pictures of everything, anywhere because why not stamp your life in scenery. I believe God shows his face in nature, in sunsets, by the ocean and in people's eyes. I can go on and on but this is just a piece of who I am.
I hope as you found this page, you stay. You stay long enough to know you, too are loved and understood and are welcomed in space. Even if we are strangers, I hope you leave feeling that you are more than just another person, but now a friend and that someone is cheering you on in life, because I am.
that is my heart.
Here is my heart for you laid out in words - for you to know Jesus and to know Love.
XO, J.
